Bashes and Monster Champs

BASHES

Here at least once a month on Crystal Gate, staff hold what is known as a monster bash where the hordes of evil and corrupt are summoned forth into the world to fight against you the players. Bashes are held in a controlled environment the team arena, this area of the world is known as a newbie zone which means you will not loose items on your person or in your backpack if death should befall you. Unlike tournaments, there are no special prizes and there are no winners, though you get all the loot you can carry. If you see a notice about a bash, be sure to show up! You can't loose anything and you will have a load of fun.

Be aware that sometimes the forces of evil are so powerful they cannot be contained and will attack at random across the land these are the times when you should fear for you life. When only team work with your fellow players will be enough to fight the evil back into the black abyss where it came from. Be scared of the Cows.

CHAMPION SPAWNS

A Champion Spawn is an area where different groups of monsters spawn. Players battle it out against wave after wave of monsters until finally the "Champion" is summoned. The Champion is very fast very tough and hard to kill.

Currently there are 3 active spawns around Britannia there locations and Champ also its monster group is as follows**:

Location: Terathan Keep
Champion: Mephitis
Group: Arachnid

Location: Desert of Compassion
Champion: The Crystal Guardian
Group: Elemental

Location: Occlo
Champion: Lord Oaks
Group: Forest

Other Locations:
Minoc, Wrong Dungeon Entrance, Destard Dungeon, Lost Lands, City of the Dead.
** Champ spawns are currently removed to diversify PvM

There are more Champion Spawns, it's up to you to discover them!

There is a number of ways to tell if you are in a Champion Spawn area:
If you find a strange altar with a pentagram on top.
If you find a large amount of the same kind of monsters in a relatively small area.

On the altar you will find a number of red and white Skull Candles.
The red candles are an indicator of how big the spawn is and how close you are to summoning the Champion, the more candles there is the closer you are.
The white candles are an indicator of how close you are to getting another red candle.

The more red candles there is on the altar, the more powerful are the creatures that are spawning.

There can be a total of 16 red candles on the altar (16 levels of the spawn) and 5 white candles (you will never see the 5th because it will actually spawn a new red one). Once all 16 red and 5 white candles are there, then the Champion will spawn.

Rewards:

Unlike on OSI where you only get a major prize once the champ is defeated, Crystal Gate players have the chance to get a "reward tickets" each time a new cycle of monsters is created. These Tickets are blessed/newbie items they cannot be stolen and will stay in your pack even if you die. Prize tickets appear in your pack so you will know if you have got one.

Note: the Prizes themselves are NOT newbie and you can loose them. Prize tickets work on a radius basis if your not close enough to the alter you wont get one. For details about prize tickets and the rewards contained there in visit the rares section of this page.
