A while back we switched forum registration to require an Admin to activate the account. We did this because we were receiving a large volume of spam accounts and as a result spam threads on the forums. I’ve received a few messages in IRC this week about new IRC accounts not being activated. If you would like a forum account, please contact CWO, Stormrage, Camus or Sabin in IRC to have it verified and activated. A second note: You are now able to register with Gmail and Hotmail email accounts again. |

Crystal Gate is looking for input as we work towards the creation of our new and improved shard. This includes almost a complete rewrite of current scripts for increased efficiency and new features. The project has been dubbed "POLCG Rewrite (Project:Resurrection)". We are really looking for as much input from players as possible, so if you don't already have a forum account it is recommended that you make one and join in the discussion. This is a great chance to have your voice heard and help return our shard to greatness. Every opinion counts and helps stir interest and more development. The link for the specific rewrite section: http://forums.crystalgate.org/viewforum.php?f=29 CWO's introduction to this project: This project is something I have been doing side-by-side with the regular scripting I've done for CG. This is entirely a need for Crystal Gate if it is ever to survive in the future. There are many things that will be brought under control and flexibility of what can be done under this rewrite will not only better support current features of CG but also be a foundation to creating new features in the future. First of all, this is an ENTIRE REWRITE and completely written for the newest version of POL (currently POL 097). The other POL upgrades were just conversions. Taking our regular scriptbase and just patching it up. The former practices have proven to make our scriptbase ever more unstable and creates many troubles to script for. This rewrite will not only introduce new features for the shard that will be completed even before any player ever logs into this shard but it may even put some old features that have been around forever on the back burner or even eliminate them. I will list everything that is removed so that we may discuss a possible return of that feature. I am willing to implement any old things that were axed as long as the playerbase supports it but they may not be put in until after the new rewrite is live. One thing I will have on this new shard is as complete of a documentation as I can write as I'm writing the scripts. This will be included in the help system and it will be made public to the shard on the web in a text form which I hope that maybe someone will come by and organize it possibly with screenshots and other things to make a complete guide to playing Crystal Gate which will hopefully attract players. Keep all discussion within this forum to the project. Constructive posting will be enforced by me in this forum. |

We have sent out the emails to the ones who have been accepted as Counselor trainees. We did have a lot of good applications but by a hard process of elimination, we had to narrow it down to 8 people which is still the largest group that we've had in at least as long as I've been here. You should start seeing Counselor Trainees appearing in the game by the end of this week. |
